Although our Biothane collars are pretty tough, there are afew things we recommend doing and avoiding to keep your collars in good condition for as long as possible.

Care Information

Cleaning Your Collar

Simply clean with a SOFT toothbrush or sponge and washing up liquid (dish soap).  Do not use harsh chemicals.

If your dog is likely to roll in undesirable substances, we recommend cleaning it as soon as possible. Some substances may permanently stain light-coloured Biothane.

Regular cleaning will maintain your items in the best condition and may maximise their lifespan.

Can I use my collar in water?

Our collars will comfortably withstand use in freshwater!

Ensure collars are rinsed off after going to the beach, used in saltwater or in chemically treated water. We recommend you do not use collars featuring Black hardware or Colour Shifting crystals on the beach or in saltwater.

Can my dog wear their collar all the time?

We do not recommend collars be left on your dog when unattended. Although they are tough, they are not invincible and excessive scratching, biting, or rolling may damage the collar.

Cloud Nine Collars is not responsible for any deaths or injuries which occur whilst wearing our accessories.

Info on Brass & Black Hardware

Brass hardware will tarnish light coloured Biothane and may mark darker coloured Biothane.

Black hardware is purely decorative, the black colour is coated on a different metal underneath (usually zinc or brass) and will fade/chip to the original colour with time.

Flea Treatment & Biothane Collars

Remove collars during the application and drying of spot on flea treatment. The chemicals can accelerate the degradation of Biothane. Our collars should not be worn in conjunction with a flea collar.
